Length: 19.2 km
Duration: 11:37 (included lots of wandering, ice cream and dinner in Margate, and a long lunch in Broadstairs)
Wayfinding: extremely easy to follow coast path signs
Weather: sunny, cloudy, hot, shorts

Coastal walk with many swimming opportunities. Some were seaweedy and smelly. Don’t delay, swim at the first beach you like the look of.

The area is reputed to be up and coming. The three towns on the walk, Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate, were lively on a sunny weekend of folk festival and Pride. But they were still Kentish seaside towns: arcades, litter, unmaintained pavements, tat shops, forced cheers, oversized houses in thirsty gardens, so much potential, so much trying.

Margate was fun. Calling it a town is underselling it, it was a less pretty cousin of Brighton.
We tried our best to soak in Pride but our feet ached. Instead of dancing, a real fruit ice cream, a dodgy pub, and a Bajan brasserie did the trick.
